A Simple Prayer: Changing Ourselves
Father GOD,
What's the use of changing the world if we don't change ourselves?
My heart has been broken. Shattered into a million pieces. Hardened and still it aches. I look for salvation and answers in this world and am always disappointed and left yearning.
This is all this world has become. A place for ever seeking what we will not find. Seeking what can only be found in YOU.
Change must come from within before the world will change. Otherwise we will only fall back into old patterns and past sins.
YOU intimately know the patterns of my soul. Help me become righteously whole. Let me put aside the things that take me away from YOU, PAPA. Let me see with eyes that can see and hear with ears that listen to YOU. Let me know YOU, LORD, FATHER GOD, that I should be healed.
13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:
‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;
15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
