When was the last time you talked to or communed to your own personal federal or state government representatives or senators? How about contacted their office? Do you even know who they are? Don’t know? Maybe like nearly all of us, you don’t even know their names. Do you have their phone numbers? Or their mailing addresses? How are they supposed to be able to serve you?
I know! They are telepathic! Or they use Ouija boards. Maybe they use soothsayers sometimes called consultants or pollsters. These people are there to serve you. How can they do that if they don’t hear from you? They are left to vote for their own needs or beliefs. Not yours.
When you go to vote, do you know who the candidates are? Or they just names on the ballet listed by party affiliation? (He or she must be good for the job because they are a Democrat or a Republican or a Maoist.) As has been demonstrated in the news lately, the offices that can have a huge impact on our lives are the local school board members, judges, and prosecutors who are elected officials. A lot of these people are your neighbors, as are city council members and zoning board members.
It is your home. Your neighborhood. Your city. Your state. Your country.
Write a letter. Make a phone call. Send an E-mail. Visit a web site and leave a message. Ask your friends and neighbors. Organize a political action group. Put notes on community bulletin boards. Get involved.
It is your home. Your neighborhood. Your town or city. Your life. Make of it what you can.
Who is Wembley?
Wembley is the nom de plume for an older gentleman who loves history and politics, writes often, but is technology challenged. He wants so much for people to read what he writes. After many arguments over the subject, he doesn’t want to build a following or even have his own substack… even though he has much to say. He absolutely insists that I publish it for him.
So, he will write and I will publish. This is just a short essay he did and the first of many.
The older generations have so much to teach us.
I love the concept of having the younger generation posting for the sages of past decades. Sages need more exposure inorder to influence critical thinking youth. They are out there!!!
Love it!! Yes, it is our responsibility to let our elected ones know how we think. I wrote often to Trump when he was president and got several letters…attend city council meetings when possible, know the mayor by his first name, have been involved with the sexually explicit books in the local library, my husband and I are poll workers (this election should be interesting), participate in community events, etc., only listing things to give others ideas.
Yes, we have been infiltrated, lied to, fed propaganda and voted in rigged elections….maybe if we had been doing what this gentleman said, we could have stopped it dead in the beginning.
Teach our children the responsibilities required to keep the greatest country a constitutional republic!
Please convey our heartfelt thanks to ‘Mr. Wembley’ and God bless you, Dove, for helping him!!🙏🙏
