God’s children are not for sale…
150 million people are trafficked each year. For every 100 people you see on the street, 2 of them are human trafficking victims. There is no country, no state, and no city that this doesn't affect.
If my tears were enough, these children would be saved. And I wasn't even the intended audience for this movie. That would be our men. Our protectors. Our warriors. Most likely, it was made for you.
There was very little dialogue. There didn't need to be. Even nuance, every emotion, ripped my heart to pieces. I feel broken. We are broken. Our world. Our lives. We are just recently becoming aware of this fact within the last few years.
Human trafficking steals children's voices. It steals their joy and happiness. Their laughter. Their hopes and futures. The movie itself gave a voice to these children's pain and fear in a way the written word, numbers, and statistics couldn't have.
During the credits, Jim Caviezel gives a message. The storytellers of our generation have an important job to do. Make this moment a turning point in history. Continue telling these children's stories. No one else will. It is up to us - you and me.
What is the Sound of Freedom?
Thanks for the review Lizzy. I want to go see it. Wish i could watch it alone, not in a theater, got a feeling it could make me beyond furious/emotional. Dont know that i could even handle driving back home in any traffic.
Going to see it today (7/5) with a brother; also checked out "Count of Monte Cristo" with Jim in the titular role last week. I happened to read yesterday online that Disney wanted to take all references to God out in that film, and Jim said he would back out of the project if they did. Disney finally backed down, and that film was saved from being a flop, IMHO, by Jim saying NO.
That's the kind of courage we need from our politicians these days, but in the Swamp it's all 'one had greases the other,' and they laughingly call this compromise with evil "Senate congeniality" (when in reality, just as in Bolshevik Russia, the Mensheviks [RINOs] always give in). The power of NO needs to be rediscovered in this country.
