What a wonderful post! It is something reading about your Grandpa, and what he had gone through. So much has changed, but then again not much...it did bring to my memory of the time spent at Lackland, during training... My Dad was also Navy! I was Air Force. Though I never went to war as both of them did. I appreciate their services.
Your Grandpa was in war time. The places he was at and what he had seen and gone through....the stories he would have told! His sacrifices.... thank you so much for sharing, I can't wait to hear more! I can imagine how proud of him you are!
Thank you so much for reading this and sharing in this with me. It means so much. I think he would have liked other people knowing about his experiences.
You are so very welcome, there are several people that read your articles that I have shared. Hopefully many have joined you! I know that the other Veterans also like to read of the past, what other Veterans have gone through. I do!
This story of one man's sacrifice, yet many men's sacrifice, needs to be shared over and over in classrooms across America. These were men and women from every race, religion, and ethnicity. We owe a debt of gratitude to these men and women. We also need to see the cost in human life. This is the memory that needs to be fixed in the center of our minds as we move out, in 2025, to take our country back from the evil that has crept in. The blood of righteous men and women cry out from the waters around the world for justice. Be not afraid, for I thy God goes before thee.
my dad was in the war but in N Africa and then Europe with Patton. He saw combat close up and personal. Hearing the words of one who experienced the conflict from a non combatant role is always intriguing for it's insights.

Yeah. So do I. It is interesting to see into their world. I am not a veteran. I have never served. But I find their stories fascinating.
What a great read! My soft spot is our veterans. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing more, if is available.
