I will be writing on how to research soon. Tips, tricks, etc. It'll be a place to start. A lot of it is just asking questions which lead to more questions and answering them followed up by a healthy dose of trusting your gut. You look for things that stand out or don't quite fit the narrative. Patterns if you will.
As far from a emotional standpoint? It gets hard. For me I focus on finishing the project and then letting my emotions fuel that anger and passion. Look at the facts. Write those out. Then deal with the emotions and put it all together. Some things are easier to deal with than others.
